An Individual Profile for mature aged individuals is intended as a solid basis for self-exploration. It starts with a comprehensive online profiling session, and includes a detailed Careers Profile Report, a one hour career meeting with a professional counsellor, and access to our web-based portal from which you can connect to the best available resources and build your Career Action Plan.
Your Careers Profile Report has five sections. Using insights from your online profiling session, it explores:
Your Personal Style or how you relate, notice, decide and act. Exploring your natural tendencies helps direct your career exploration and consider environments in which you best thrive.
Your Career Interests or patterns from your perception of different occupations. This is useful to direct your career exploration to the areas which most connect with you.
Your Problem Solving Skills across six different styles of reasoning. Different types of reasoning skills help unlock different opportunities.
Your Transferable Skills which represent core skills employers value across a range of jobs and industries.
Possibilities - putting it all together, we develop an initial list of opportunities you might want to explore further.
In a one-hour video conferencing career meeting, our counsellors will take you through your report and help you understand each of the sections. We will then help you explore the career ideas given in the report, and to formulate an action plan.
Mature aged clients will generally focus on identifying options and developing next steps.
Our Career Action Plan is designed to help you develop your conclusions and take charge of the next stage of your career decision making through a series of engaging and fun tasks.
These tasks will introduce you to the rich information contained in your Career Avenues Profile and then guide you through to making a decision. The tasks have been designed to follow a Decision Science Framework which helps you make the best choice with the information you have.
The Career Action Plan contains a rich body of resources such as occupation videos specific to your profile, online careers guidance tools and higher education course information.
You can re-do this plan in the future as the next career turning point emerges.
